Rachel Sorra, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), specializes in helping adolescents with

Rachel utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, mindfulness, play therapy, and psychotherapy in treatment. It is Rachel’s ultimate goal to assist each individual and family she encounters with improving overall wellness and functioning, while providing high quality mental health services. Rachel graduated from Towson University in 2013 with a double-major in Sociology and Psychology and received her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2017. She began her career as a rehabilitation counselor at a psychiatric rehabilitation program in Baltimore, providing individual and group counseling to children ages 4-17 with various mental health diagnoses. Through her work with children and families, Rachel developed a passion for providing mental health services to youth in schools, witnessing the barriers that many families face trying to obtain quality therapy and counseling. Rachel has worked in both Baltimore City and Montgomery County public schools, offering school-based therapy and counseling services. In addition to her work at Better Together Family Therapy Rachel currently serves as a Child and Family Therapist with Linkages to Learning, a community school partnership program, providing mental health services within the diverse Montgomery County community.
